Handwoven Heritage.
Timeless Elegance.
Six yards of silk, cotton, and gold zari — carried across three centuries by the hands of Maheshwar's master weavers. Every saree begins its life on a wooden loom, and ends it as an heirloom.
A craft born of royal patronage, kept alive by artisan hands
In the 18th century, Rani Ahilyabai Holkar invited skilled weavers to the fort town of Maheshwar to create sarees fit for royalty. What began on the palace looms became a living tradition — passed from teacher to apprentice, thread by thread, for over 250 years.
Today, our weavers still work on the same wooden pit-looms, in the same lanes above the Narmada, using techniques that have never needed updating — only honouring.

From raw yarn to finished heirloom
Every Maheshwari saree passes through five deliberate stages, each done entirely by hand — a process unchanged since it was first taught on the palace looms.
Dyeing the Yarn
Raw silk and cotton threads are hand-dyed in small batches, using colour recipes passed down through generations of families.
Setting the Warp
Thousands of threads are stretched and aligned on the loom by hand — a single misstep here can take hours to correct.
Hand Weaving
The weaver works the shuttle across the warp, thread by thread, building the saree's signature stripes and checks over several days.
The Zari Border
Fine gold-toned zari thread is woven into the border and pallu, using the traditional bugdi and chatai techniques.
Final Finishing
Each saree is inspected by hand, gently pressed, and folded in the traditional style before it ever leaves Maheshwar.
“A Maheshwari saree is not made in a day. It is made in nine — and worn for a lifetime.”— Master Weaver, Maheshwar
Wrapped as carefully as it was woven
Every saree arrives folded in the traditional style, wrapped in handmade paper, and sealed in a keepsake box lined with silk — ready to be gifted, or kept for the next generation.
